General Information

The driving force behind the tremendous demand for training programs in Information Technology (IT) are the rapid changes in the IT sector, the growing shortfall of skilled laborers and the need for professionals to keep abreast of developments in the field. In an effort to respond to this demand, the Professional Master's Degree Program in IT aims to provide its participants with an international professional profile to meet the rapidly-evolving industry needs. Created with the purpose of offering training and education for the field of Information Technology, our program provides a one year comprehensive education enabling prospective applicants for careers in this field. The mission of this graduate program is to prepare individuals by providing the theoretical foundations of the discipline and the practical knowledge and problem solving skills to meet industry expectations.

The program's rich variety is designed to appeal to IT professionals who desire to improve their skills and broaden their expertise, as well as to new graduates ready to embark on an IT career. Additionally, the program is ideal for professionals planning a change of career track.

With its diverse curriculum, state of the art laboratory facilities, and effective practical applications, the design of this graduate program is able to meet the varying needs of industries in the field, which is one of its unique characteristics when compared to its counterparts in Turkey. The basic philosophy is to offer an up-to-date curriculum that integrates rapidly developing technologies and innovations.

An awareness of the demands of business life enabled the Program's flexible scheduling in which weekly classes run on Saturdays and two weekdays as evening courses. Thus, course attendance is facilitated for the working professionals whose schedule enables companies to send their employees to the Program. Participants, unemployed at present and registered to the program, also have the opportunity for part-time employment or internship.

Program Structure

The Professional Master's Degree Program is a one-year program composed of 3 academic semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer), each of which lasts 14 weeks. Students take 11 courses in total from various areas. The Term Project is a non-credit course.

The program is scheduled in a way to make it available to those that are working on a full-time or part-time basis. All courses are offered in the evening during weekdays (6 hours in total) and on Saturday (6 hours in total) during the weekend.

Applied Training

Professional Master's Program in IT is conducted in classes and laboratories which are equipped with the type of hardware and software components needed for the applied training format adopted by the curriculum. Students are advised to bring in a Windows-based laptop (a mid/top range i5 and 8GB of RAM) or a MacBook Pro (8GB of RAM with BootCamp/Virtualization installed) for running software tools and working on your projects and homework assignments.
