Those who: are not trained in an IT related area but would like to make a change in their career track; want to improve their skills and broaden their expertise in IT; would like to get a competitive edge in their career track; and/or are recent graduates can apply for the program. This program is also designed to accommodate the needs of the working professionals and thus proposed as an executive program to accommodate the participants' workweek.
The academic year consisting of 3 semesters (Fall, Spring, and Summer) begins in September and ends in August. Upon successful completion of this 1-year program, students graduate with the Professional Master's Degree in IT.
Sabancı University IT Program content, laboratory applications, and the presentation format of the courses are all designed with the philosophy that establishes the basic IT infrastructure so as to enable the mastery of designing, problem solving, and solution developing skills. Therefore, credits from other universities cannot be transferred to the Professional Master's Degree Program in IT.
During the Fall term of 2015, we will be offering a non-credit course "Introduction to Computer Programming with Java" for the first time. The objective of this introductory course is to provide students who have little or no prior programming experience with algortihmic thinking and basic programming skills. Those who receive a passing score from the level placement test in the first week of classes will be exempt from attending the course but are welcome to sit in if they choose to do so.
The curriculum of the Program is not composed of the existing courses in the Computer Science undergraduate and/or the graduate programs. With its diverse curriculum, state of the art laboratory facilities, and effective practical applications, the design of this graduate program is able to meet the challenging/varying needs of industries in the field. The course contents vary from communication systems, system administration, and software to network applications and improve candidates' problem solving and solution developing skills while providing a one-to-one interactive environment where students directly participate in the effective practical applications and laboratory sessions.

This program is designed to accommodate the needs of the working professionals. Days and hours of the courses are distributed to 2 weekdays (6 hours in total with classes between 19:00-22:00) and Saturdays (6 hours in total with classes between 9:00-16:00).
Details of admission requirements and necessary documents are indicated in Professional Master's Degree in IT. Graduates of a 4 year undergraduate program can apply for the program; however, students demonstrating an aptitude for IT have a higher chance for acceptance to the Program so as to provide a balanced distribution in terms of participants knowledge and experience.
No scholarships or assistantships are offered for the graduate program in IT. Corporate discounts, however, are available for qualified applicants. Please see Tuition Fees section for details.
